Strata Achieves Delivery Milestone With 100th Pilatus PC-24 Belly Fairing Shipsets

Strata Manufacturing (Strata), the advanced manufacturing company wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company PJSC, has reached another manufacturing milestone after successfully delivering its 100th PC-24 Belly Fairing shipset to Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, the global aviation OEM.

Since being awarded the Belly Fairing contract in April 2018, Strata has ramped up manufacturing capacity to manufacture a carbon fibre PC-24 Belly Fairing shipset each week.

Each PC-24 Belly Fairing shipset carries Strata’s ‘Made with Pride in the UAE’ trademark, with the manufacturing process overseen by a dedicated team which comprises 70 per cent Emiratis.

“Delivery of these Belly Fairings further solidifies the UAE’s leadership standing within the global aviation industry, while also contributing to economic diversification, providing sustainable skill-based employment to Emiratis, and expanding our knowledge-based economy in line with the country’s national vision,” explained Ismail Ali Abdulla, CEO of Strata. “The production and delivery milestone also underpins our excellent and reliable service credentials, which have been consistently fortified and exceeded since our establishment.”

This achievement is a clear demonstration of the long-term partnership with Pilatus and reflects the move forward in strengthening Strata’s position as a strategic supplier to Pilatus.

In March 2021, the partnership between Strata and Pilatus was extended, and under the agreement Pilatus Strata will be granted three additional work packages over a period seven years for the PC 24 – the world’s first Super Versatile Jet: two for autoclave manufacturing, of pylon fairings, bullet fairings and tail cones, and one, for the first time in the UAE, to manufacture aerospace class hot press composite parts. The agreement is a fulfilment of the Tawazun Economic Programme’s obligation that aims to generate high economic value and create social and strategic benefits to the UAE.
